We offer competitive rates and each package will be different as we customise our package to suit your needs. How far in advance should I book with livebollywoodmusic.com?
We encourage you to book us as early as possible, perhaps as soon as you get your venue. Some clients have already booked us a year from now. Our live music services are in high demand, so we suggest that you book us as quickly as possible so that it’s one less thing for you to worry about.
Are you willing to travel?
Of course. We travel all over the world to perform at weddings and events. However, we must consider how much time it will take us to get to your venue, and travel expenses (depending on what services you would like to book). Finally, we will also need parking either validated or reimbursed on the day of your event.
I’m happy with my quote and I would like to hire you! What now?
Excellent choice! We will email you a contract to secure the date. A non-refundable deposit is required with a signed contract to secure the date. The balance is due on the day of your event.
What are the performers’ needs on the day of my wedding? What do you need?
You will need to provide us with some chairs (depending on the service you use), a table and some power. This is usually provided by the venue and we can arrange this with the venue of your choice.
If it is an outdoor event, we would need to be placed under shade to protect our equipment. We will also need to be seated in an area with adequate lighting if we are playing an evening function.
Do you need microphones? Do you own sound system equipment (i.e. microphones, speakers, etc)?
Yes and yes! Microphones and a sound system are essential for projecting our sound at your event, so everyone can hear us clearly. We can provide a sound system if you require and an additional fee will apply if you choose to have us bring our own sound equipment.
If you book a ‘DJ and Live Band’ package with us, we can arrange for both the band and DJ to go through the same sound system, which would work out more economical for you.
HELP! I’m not sure what songs to choose.
Don’t worry. We have all of the most popular wedding songs known. We have the perfect songs for the wedding ceremony, reception, Mehndi, Saanji and Walima.
Do you do destination weddings?
Yes, we have performed at weddings and functions in various parts of the world. Please contact us for a quote.
Will your singers or DJ help with announcements?
For us, being a great singer or DJ also means being a great MC. So any announcements and introductions that you need made are no problem at all.
HELP, I don’t know what services to book for my Mehndi night, registry, wedding and reception!
This is a classic conundrum for Asian weddings! We have a variety of different options that would suit any type of theme or idea you may have, from solo violinists or harpists, to live bands or DJs.
We often find that a live band for the mehndi/sangeet night works well. The band will entertain your guests with a variety of new and old songs in an interactive and engaging way. This is also a good time for family games such as ‘antakshri.’ You can always add a small DJ if you want to end the night on more of a high. If you’re planning on having a Saanji, we specialise in traditional Gujarati Garba and Dandiya.
In our experience, a small instrumental band works really well during drinks receptions/canapé events at weddings. You might want to hear our Bollywood Jazz instrumental band, which is led by a saxophonist and includes an electric piano and small drum kit. Alternatively, have a think about solo musicians, such as a pianist or violinist. If you want more of a traditional sound, how about a tabla and sitar duo, or a tabla, bansuri and sitar trio?
Depending on your day’s events, we can offer a variety of options that would dovetail with how you want your special day to go. If you are having your wedding ceremony in the morning followed by a reception, you could have a DJ to play background music during the wedding ceremony and then to get the party started for the evening reception!
What sort of music will you play?
We have a huge repertoire of music including both old and new Bollywood songs, with hits from Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, and Mukesh through to Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Shreya Goshal, Sonu Nigam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam and Arijit Singh, plus many more. We update our music collection as often as a new hit song is released.
We also perform Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi and Madam Noor Jehan songs, plus a wide array of Ghazals by Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udhas and many more.
We select music that is appropriate for your event, and of course, we welcome requests.
Do you perform English songs or non-Bollywood songs?
Yes! We have singers and musicians who can play and sing English songs, as well as traditional Panjabi, Saraiki and Gujurati songs. Let us know your requirements and we can arrange singers/band who will be able to cater to your requests.
Can I select different instruments and tailor my own band?
Of course! We would encourage you to be creative! If you want a particular sound for your events, feel free to tell us. We will of course provide our input as to what we think will sound good together based on our experience. You can always add extra musicians to any of our existing band set ups, but please note that we will have to charge an additional fee for the extra musician(s).
How many songs can you play during my 1-hour drinks reception?
Each song is around 3-4 minutes each. For a 1 hour reception we can play anywhere from around 15-20 songs.
